IPC Global Monitor

The IPC Global Monitor is a quarterly report that presents detailed and up-to-date confidential information on how domestic and international postal volumes and revenues have evolved (executive report), as well as market size and individual share information (market report: outbound letters) since the beginning of 2005.

The executive report is targeted at IPC member CEOs focusing on quarterly trends for volume and revenue combined with key market drivers in regard to:

  • Key postal mail products
  • E-substitution
  • Economic climate and its influence on postal products
  • Competition
  • Parcels and express

The market report: outbound letters (formerly IPC Letters Market Audit) is an ongoing service that gives each participating IPC member and key operators a unique opportunity to better understand the outbound cross-border letter markets in which they operate. Through quarterly reports, including forecasts, this is a unique tool for strategic planning and informed decision making among participants. The programme is characterised by the following:

  • Participantes pool data on outbound cross-border letter volumes, weight and revenue
  • IPC analyses and prepares quarterly market reports for individual participants based on this information
  • Each operator receives reports with information on their own share of the market, and the total market size
  • The network effect of participation ensures IPC is able to provide accurate, cost-effective results for the benefit of the participants

IPC is currently working with members and key industry carriers on additional market reports for relevant key postal products.
