IPC Sprinter Network
The IPC Sprinter Network is an overnight road transport network that carries priority letters between nine European postal operators.
Created in 2005, the Sprinter Network was created by IPC with a group members in reaction to reduced capacity offered by airlines. It is designed to improve delivery quality and to implement transport synergies for member posts that includes strict transport monitoring.
Today, the network consist of more than 30 offices of exchange to office of exchange links and transports more than 40,000 kg of priority mail each week for the nine participating postal operators.
With hubs in Luxembourg and Zurich, the network is served by a fleet of Light Goods Vehicles (LGV) that run on night schedules. IPC monitors network operations using our CAPE reporting and monitoring system. Transponders attached to the vehicles transmit tracking data, which are detected by IPC’s RFID network at each office of exchange. IPC feeds tracking events into CAPE Vision, where we assess performance and report back to participating postal operators.
We continuously analyze all the available reports and propose opportunities for expanding the network for current or potential new users. The existing network is therefore open to new links, new participants and new services.
