Driven by an 18% increase in parcels and express volumes, Canada Post reported its second consecutive year of revenue growth in 2018.

However, full-year performance was impacted by employee strikes in Q4, which resulted in a 3.4% drop in parcels segment revenue for the period. Nevertheless, parcels and express services generated almost half Canada Post’s revenue in 2018. The operator is shifting focus in its sorting and delivery operations to meet increased capacity needs and plans to significantly increase its sorting capabilities for parcels over the next four years.
