Strong growth for European parcels and global express volumes drove a 1.5% increase in revenue for Deutsche Post DHL in 2018.

However, e-commerce and parcels-related growth was largely offset by negative currency effects and the impact of subsidiary divestments in the prior year. Deutsche Post DHL also reported lower profitability for 2018, with a restructure of its Post-eCommerce-Parcel division and accounting changes lowering EBIT and net profit. Deutsche Post DHL expects a strong recovery in profitability for 2019, with its new domestic mail and parcels division expected to contribute a quarter of EBIT.
