Hongkong Post’s international airmail volumes grew by 30% in 2017, helping to partly offset an almost 10% decline in domestic mail volumes for the year.

Cross-border e-commerce is a key development target for Hongkong Post, with the operator looking to increase use of its Air Mail Centre to offer transhipment for international items. It has also looked to support domestic e-commerce, launching fulfilment services for SMEs in 2016. E-commerce services accounted for 14% of the operator’s revenue in 2017.
