The IPC Annual Conference is a truly unique event for the global postal industry: an exclusive, invitation-only event for postal operator CEOs.

Building a New Compelling Position for Posts

IPC’s Annual Conference Building a New Compelling Position for Posts was held in Oslo on 24 May and gathered over 50 delegates, including more than 20 CEOs from global postal organisations and important industry stakeholders, to discuss postal transformation and future challenges and opportunities driven by e-Commerce growth. UPU Director General Bashir Hussein and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Haakon of Norway were among the event’s honoured guests.

IPC’s Annual Conference Building a New Compelling Position for Posts featured six speakers from the postal industry as well as from the telecoms and media sectors and addressed three key themes. Brian Roche, Chief Executive of New Zealand Post, and Jon Frederik Baksaas, President and CEO of Telenor Group, looked at future business models and how their companies have transformed to address the needs of today’s consumer and remain relevant. Rolv Erik Ryssdal, CEO of Schibsted, and Patrick R Donahoe, Postmaster General and CEO of the US Postal Service, insisted on the importance of focusing on the end consumer while building on operational strengths. Ingeborg Sætre, Elected Officer of the Norwegian Postal and Communications Workers’ Union (Postkom) and President of UNI Europe Post and Logistics, and Herna Verhagen, CEO of PostNL, presented insights from their own experience in aligning and reorganising the postal workforce to meet business goals and stakeholders requirements, and achieve a successful company transformation.
