IPC has produced a range of leaflets describing some of its operational and supply chain solutions, including: the IPC Pallet Box Pool, the STROBE tracking solution, the IPC Mail Registration Device and IPC's Carrier Integration Solutions. These solutions all offer advantages to participating posts, lowering costs of postal operations and improving reliability and transparency throughout the delivery process.

The IPC Pallet Box Pool is one of our newest solutions, was designed with a view of optimising the use of transport capacity, ease of use, better protection of postal items and the lowest possible operating costs for using the equipment. Thanks to its stacking capabilities, the IPC Pallet Box allows the fullest volume exploitation across operations, especially of truck cargo space and load capacity. Click here to download the leaflet or go to the IPC Pallet Box page on our website for more information.

The STROBE project provides the postal industry and the e-commerce customers (e-retailers and shoppers) with a low-cost ‘auto-tracking’ solution for the +/- 60% of cross-border low-value e-commerce items that are currently not tracked. STROBE combines passive RFID and barcodes to provide tracking at a lower cost for standard e-commerce items. Click here to download the leaflet or go to the STROBE page on our website for more information.

The IPC Mail Registration Device (MRD) allows a quick and simple registration of mail deliveries handovers at postal facilities situated in airports. The device is installed by postal operators at the point where handlers from the airlines deliver postal containers to the postal staff and/or where postal staff hand over mail consignments to airlines, which usually takes place at the entrance of the air mail units at the airport. Click here to download the leaflet or go to the IPC MRD page on our website for more information.

The Carrier Integration Solutions are a set of tools developed by IPC as part of the Future of Mail by Air (FoMbA) initiative to address the lack of proper consignment management between posts and airlines. This lack causes delays in air transportation of mail and undermines the performance of one of the key processes of an end-to-end e-commerce service offering. To address this issue, IPC worked on two main areas of focus that critically affect airmail transportation: consignment planning – with the development of IFABS (Integrated Forecasting, Allocation and Booking Solution) – and consignment performance monitoring –with the expansion of key EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) messages and designed several reporting tools. Click here to download the leaflet or go to the FoMbA page on our website for more information.

Some of these solutions will also be exhibited at next week's IPC Annual Conference, taking place in Amsterdam on 18-19 May. For more information about the IPC Annual Conference, click here.
