International Post Corporation is the postal industry’s partner company that provides leadership by driving service quality, interoperability and business-critical intelligence, and gives its members an authoritative, independent and collective voice.

Since 1989, the International Post Corporation has set standards for upgrading quality and service performance and developed technology that has helped members improve service for international letters, parcels and express.

Personal and business communications have evolved tremendously over the last 20 years, and the mailing industry has evolved as well. IPC continues to help the postal sector by developing state of the art technology and quality improvement systems that are guiding postal operators into the future and keeping the industry a viable and competitive source of communications.

In terms of operational services, IPC provides technological and cooperative solutions that enable its member postal operators to achieve common goals and meet commercial needs. IPC is supporting postal operators to improve the quality of service and perform consistently against a wide range of industry standards which demonstrate the value of the postal network. IPC also develops a complete operational, tracking and information platform to underpin e-commerce growth opportunities, across the entire packages range. To help postal operators meet their commercial needs, IPC is creating new methods, driving efficiency and encourage the adoption of best practice.

The service quality is also key for intercompany pricing (terminal dues). IPC provides a European system for intercompany pricing, known as the REIMS agreements, which is based on cost and service quality for postal operators.

IPC is dedicated to helping postal operators achieve profitable growth through market knowledge and innovation. We provide relevant, accurate and reliable intelligence on markets, products and new service opportunities for postal businesses. We identify ways for the industry to strengthen relationships with customers through initiatives for sustainable development.

IPC offers its members insight into market and regulatory developments. Together with its members, IPC initiates and conducts research on regulatory, legal and political issues, including benchmarking studies and analyses of relevant regulatory questions.

Increasing competition within the postal industry calls for greater cooperation among postal operators. IPC provides a framework for member networking and knowledge sharing by establishing platforms − such as our Senior Executive Events and Annual Conferences.

Moreover, at IPC, we are working to systematically address the environmental impacts and are collaborating to combat the global climate change across the sector through our Environmental Measurement and Monitoring System (EMMS) programme. We believe that through the sharing of knowledge, the encouragement of positive action, improving carbon management proficiency, the entire postal industry will be able to lower its environmental impacts structurally, thus addressing stakeholder concerns about the sector’s contribution to greenhouse gas emissions.
