The ecological portfolio (green mail and eco direct mail), continued to gain momentum, having as a whole increased the mail volumes by 2.4% and the revenue by 3.9%. The weight of ecological purchases in total supplies reached 99.4%.

The insourcing of previously subcontracted routes and the operational start-up of Banco CTT led to a 2.8% growth in fuel consumption, compensated by decreases in electricity consumption, gas and heating/cooling. Continued reliance on 100% green electricity kept scope 1 and 2 emissions to +1.0%. Overall CO2 emissions (scope 1, 2 and 3) recorded a very significant reduction, -26.6%. New vehicles boosted CTT’s electric fleet, the largest at a national level, with 320 vehicles.

CTT has recorded the highest reduction of emissions of the postal sector at a worldwide level, -70% in scopes 1 and 2 (2015, baseline 2008). In the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) stock exchange rating, CTT has reached worldwide co-leadership of its sector, for the first time.
