On 17 and 18 April 2018 International Post Corporation and CTT Portugal Post will host the fifth edition of the IPC Drivers’ Challenge in Estoril, Portugal. We expect to welcome a large number of well-prepared teams to the Autódromo Fernanda Pires da Silva to enjoy our two-day programme and learn more about eco-driving and car handling, safety and customer service.

The IPC Drivers' Challenge is an international driving competition in which teams composed of a driver and a manager of postal operators compete on the level of eco-driving, driving safety and customer service. The driving event is part of our sustainability programme, which promotes driver education and employee engagement. The event is open to all posts participating in the IPC Environmental Measurement and Monitoring System (EMMS).

The primary focus of the competition lies on driving in the most ecological and energy-efficient manner. However, other important criteria for the postal sector, such as speed management, road safety, customer service quality and overall cost of delivery, will be measured.

For the 2018 edition, an additional focus on electric cars will be introduced in the programme. As in previous years, a series of car handling exercises, a theoretical test and some challenging deliveries will complete the programme.

Participating postal operator teams are composed of an experienced driver and a senior manager: competing postal operators can showcase not only their best drivers but also their senior management’s commitment to sustainability. Driving duties and challenges will be split equally between both members of each competing team.
