Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) reference documents

Accountability and visibility

This section contains reference information on various EDI (Electronica Data Interchange) related matters. It includes the EDI promotional brochure, published by UPU, IATA and IPC in three different languages. It contains a matrix with the status of CARDIT-RESDIT exchange (standards M18, M20, M22, M39) between posts and airlines and a query function to find out which RESDIT events are being reported by which airlines at which airports. Furthermore the FoMbA EDI section provides information on the status of the implementation of the M39 standard and its functionalities.

Here you can download the EDI promotional brochure, which also provides a useful reference for postal related EDI including a graphic that provides an overview of all mail related EDI in the end-to-end process from posting by the customer to receipt by the addressee…

Please note that the Query included herein can only provide an indication of the RESDIT event messages provided as it is based on copies of the EDIFACT messages received by IPC from the Airlines. The information may not be complete. All RESDIT events reported by the Airline are taken into consideration. The Query does not take into consideration the frequency of the RESDIT event messages provided nor the quality of the data included in the messages. The Query is updated monthly.
