Over 80 high-level representatives from 30 posts worldwide, including 20 CEOs met in Dublin, Ireland for the IPC Annual Conference 2023 hosted by An Post.

The theme of the IPC Annual Conference was “The Postal Contribution to Emissions’ Reduction”.

After launching the IPC Sustainability Measurement and Management System in 2019, how successful have posts been in meeting the requirements of the Paris agreement and what else should be done?

Posts are working together to agree a new SMMS Group Science Based Target around a 25% reduction in Scope 3 emissions by 2030. Debate focused on the progress made toward the existing 2030 SMMS targets, and on the next developments.

Posts tasked IPC together with the sustainability expert group to further identify the most suitable standards, to develop the guidelines for the postal sector and explore the most efficient means to achieve these goals.
