The topic of this workshop was the postal presence in the virtual world: challenges and opportunities

The 8th quarterly online Comms Workshop took place on 27 September on the theme: “Posts in the virtual world”. NFTs (Non-fungible Tokens) are rapidly developing in all sectors and the postal sector is not an exception. More and more posts worldwide are launching crypto stamps, generating interest among the youngest generations for philately. The workshop looked at the main challenges of crypto stamps as well as the opportunities in terms of image. In the same vein, a new parallel world is unfolding with many opportunities for collaboration, training and innovation, beyond pure entertainment: Metaverse. Many experts claim that an ever-growing part of our lives, labour, leisure, time, wealth, happiness, and relationships will be spent inside virtual worlds, rather than just aided through digital devices. One of the objectives of the workshop was to understand what opportunities the Metaverse represent for the postal sector.

Several experts and colleagues from IPC member posts shared their experience:  Guillaume Wilke, Head of Operational Product Marketing of POST Telecom, shared his experience with the launch of a headquarter of POST Luxembourg in the Metaverse. Patricia Liebermann, Head of the Philatelic department, Austria Post and Krešimir Domjančić, Head of Public Relations, Croatia Post shared their experience with the launch of crypto-stamps.
