China Post’s total revenue increased 8% year on year in 2020, driven by strong parcels and financial service performance.

Postal service revenue also grew strongly, despite letter volumes dropping by more than a third in 2020. Public and private partnerships and new service launches drove a 7% increase in agency services. Meanwhile, competition in the parcels and express sector meant that a 22% increase in express volumes translated into just 6% revenue growth for China Post Express & Logistics. From 2021, the post plans to increase competitiveness of its express services by focusing on delivery speed and quality.
