Total revenue for Le Groupe La Poste rose 2.3% year-on-year, driven by rising interest rates, currency and price effects and the consolidation of new subsidiaries into the group.

The Group’s profitability declined by €2.4bn (65%) in 2022, driven largely by the reversal of the pandemic-era impairment of Mail assets. Excluding exceptional accounting events, the group’s profitability fell by €255m, or 7.6%. Positive profitability in the Retail and Banking divisions were insufficient to offset a significant decline in Services-Mails-Parcels (which saw like-for-like profit decline by €46m) and Geopost (which saw like-for-like profit decline by €419m).

Le Groupe La Poste expects significant macroeconomic headwinds in 2023. To ensure cost efficiency while growing its profit centres, the group will continue to grow its digital and financial capacities, while launching a new, streamlined mail range in January 2023.
