In April almost 1500 employees of bpostgroup central services moved into the MULTI, formerly the Philips Tower. This is located on Anspachlaan/Boulevard Anspach, steps from De Brouckère in Brussels and opposite Muntcentrum/Centre Monnaie. bpost occupies 16,500m² of office space split over six of the 19 floors.
The new MULTI building is perfectly suited to the sustainability ambitions of bpostgroup. It is the Belgian capital’s first carbon-neutral, fossil fuel-free building. 89% of the building materials were recycled from other urban buildings.
The building has also been awarded ‘BREEAM excellent’ (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method) certification, proof that it meets the latest environmental standards. This mixed-use building offers several ecological and other advantages, not in the least to offer tenants unmatched accessibility: it is close to public transport lines, for example De Brouckère metro station and is located along Europe’s largest pedestrianized zone.
Fun fact: Hives for 100,000 bees set up on the roofs of the MCM in partnership with cooperative Made in Abeilles, will also be relocated on the roof of the MULTI.
