UPS-owned Marken has launched a custom-designed exclusive thermal box to provide “the best protection available” for high value shipments of clinical drug substances, clinical drug products and cell & gene therapies, along with 24/7 tracking visibility.
The clinical logistics specialist claimed that the new Marken Smart Box is the first truly configurable container, including Marken’s own SENTRY device, which offers movement, location, temperature and shock as often as once per hour. The box also accommodates Bluetooth technology for temperature monitoring and identification, uses any one of three different GPS tracking devices, and is capable of utilizing any GPS tracking device available today.
The rugged durability of the Marken Smart Box is powered by best-in-class phase change technology and complies with the ISTA 3A qualified distribution testing for payload integrity and performance, the company explained. Each case provides a complete chain of custody assurance with the option of adding a lock or security seal to each shipment.
