Acquisitions and continued growth in parcel volumes supported an acceleration in revenue growth for NZ Post in 2021.

Total revenue increased 13% in the year, with parcels and express accounting for 58% of revenue. The post also reported a positive EBIT margin for the first time since 2015, driven by higher parcels revenue, as well as funding to offset losses from mail services.

To support continued growth in e-commerce delivery, NZ Post opened two new parcels sorting centres in 2022. It aims to open a further two sites in 2023 and 2024, eventually increasing its network to 11 parcel sorting centres nationwide by 2035. By then, it aims to have more than doubled parcel sorting capacity. For more details download the latest IPC Carrier Intelligence Report for NZ Post.
