Postal operators use different electronic messages for the exchange of information within the postal supply chain. These messages need to be exchanged between posts and their different stakeholders such as airlines and customs/security authorities. The IPMX network provides the central architecture and technology that is essential for efficient and reliable data exchanges.

How does it work?

Postal operators and their stakeholders construct messages according to the message standards (defined by the specific authorised standard bodies) and send these to the IPMX network via a secure link for further processing. The destination address is identified from the message and the message is forwarded to the recipient. In case the recipient is not on the IPMX network, the message is handed over to the alternative responsible network provider for final delivery. The IPMX network also bridges with the other networks for the delivery of incoming messages. All these exchanges are done via a secure data exchange protocol.
