IPC is currently looking for a Continuous Improvement Manager to operate as a leader and ambassador for the Continuous Improvement program at IPC. Your role will include championing the Continuous Improvement approach and applying the LEAN principles within IPC and to IPC’s member posts as well as the INTERCONNECT postal operators.

Job specifications

  • Design a Continuous Improvement change programme for IPC to introduce LEAN thinking.
  • Implement Continuous Improvement throughout IPC, determine training requirements, design a Continuous Improvement ambassador programme, and create a team spirit around continuous collaboration while establishing incremental improvements.
  • Facilitate root cause analysis discussions in IPC and operational areas where the member posts may be underperforming against the IPC/OUC performance indicators.
  • Execute selected PPM assignments and COE audits as coach and lead LEAN assessor.
  • Establish a Continuous Improvement portfolio of tools, training, communication and insights to be offered in IPC and to the postal community.
  • Ensure that SMART solutions/best practices are captured, documented and shared within the postal and IPC communities.

The Continuous Improvement Manager will report directly to the Head of Proactive Performance Management, Analysis and Certification Services. The role is also to support, interact and collaborate with all other departments and teams at IPC.

Skills and competences

  • Proficient level of functional operational expertise in Continuous Improvement/LEAN
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and build rapport with stakeholders at all levels in an organisation.
  • Clearly demonstrates an analytical, factual, methodical and structured way of working.
  • Extremely focussed on performance results achieved via a focus on people, process, and plans with a passion for excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Good project management disciplines and proven ability to manage and deliver results.
  • Ability to synthesise complex information to produce appropriate clarity and level of detail tailored to any relevant target audience.
  • Process improvement methodology/Project Management tools and techniques.
  • Proven experience in applying operational process improvement methodologies and experience in using project management methodologies.
  • Industry experience: 5-10 years in (postal) operational management, preferably in transport, logistics or sortation. 
  • Experience in management consulting or project management roles in transport/logistics/posts or similar service industries are an additional asset. 
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Formal qualifications in LEAN (blackbelt)
  • Languages: French/Dutch, excellent command of spoken/written English, proficiency in at least one other major European language is an asset
