Karppinen joins Posti from his previous role as the CFO of DNA and Koskinen from his previous role as Senior Vice President of Human Resources at VR Group.
As announced earlier, Anna Salmi (M.Sc. Econ) will also begin working in her new role as Senior Vice President of Brand, Communications and Sustainability on 1 February 2021. Prior to joining Posti, she worked at Stockmann.
The latest appointments are part of the renewal efforts initiated by Posti in spring 2020. While the growth of e-commerce has created immense opportunities for the group, the increasing number of logistics operators challenges the organization to compete in an increasingly complex market.
“The coronavirus pandemic has further accelerated the disruption that has been taking place in Posti’s operating environment, and we must be able to meet the demands placed on us by these changes. With the experience, vision and capabilities of this team, we will further build Posti into a modern delivery and fulfillment company,” says Turkka Kuusisto, President and CEO of Posti Group.
“Posti has been highly successful amid the developments taking place in the market, and the industry will continue to evolve significantly. I’m delighted to have the opportunity to join the company at this time of vigorous transformation. I’m convinced that the experience and skills I’ve gained both in Finland and abroad will support the advancement of the company,” says Timo Karppinen, who joins Posti as CFO.
“Meeting the challenges of traditional business as well as realizing vast growth opportunities in other business areas will require concerted efforts from all Posti personnel. I’m thrilled and excited to join in the journey of renewing the company together with the employees,” says Timo Koskinen, who joins Posti as Senior Vice President, Human Resources.
The current CFO Tom Jansson, and Senior Vice President, Human Resources, Hanna Reijonen will leave the company and continue in their roles until their successors take office.
“Hanna and Tom have contributed in Posti’s reformation towards this next development phase, and I would like to thank them for their commendable work. I wish them both the best of luck in their endeavors,” says Kuusisto.
In addition to Kuusisto, Karppinen and Koskinen, the renewed Leadership Team consists of Yrjö Eskola, Senior Vice President, Postal Services; Johannes Gussander, CEO of Aditro Logistics; Arttu Hollmérus, Senior Vice President, Parcel and E-Commerce; Sakari Kiiskinen, Head of Transval; and Jussi Kuutsa, President of Itella Russia; Petteri Naulapää, Senior Vice President, ICT and Digitalization; Kaarina Ståhlberg, Senior Vice President, General Counsel and M&A. Anna Salmi, Senior Vice President, Brand, Communications and Sustainability, also joins the Leadership Team as of 1 February 2021.
