Total air cargo traffic increased by 6.9% last year compared to 2019 (pre-Covid levels) and by 18.7% compared to 2020, driven by consistent demand for capacity as economies recovered from the worst of the pandemic. International demand was 7.4% higher than 2019.

In December, global air cargo demand was 8.9% above 2019 levels (9.4% for international operations). This was a significant improvement from the low 3.9% increase in November and the best monthly performance since April 2021 (+11.4%).
