From this date, it will no longer be possible to send documents, postcards, and gifts worth up to $100 from post offices to the United States.
The decision was made after the company received information that major air carriers had suspended all shipments addressed to the US. This change is related to the fact that from 29 August 2025, the US will abolish the de minimis exemption that has been in force so far, which allowed for the duty-free import of shipments up to 800 US dollars. At present, the US has not yet provided precise instructions on how customs duties should be collected, what data will need to be provided and how cooperation with US customs will be ensured.
Lithuanian Post is constantly monitoring the situation and is actively looking for solutions that would allow for the resumption of parcel delivery in this direction as soon as possible. If new information about the delivery of parcels to the USA becomes available, we will inform customers immediately.
