The leading global corporate social responsibility rating provider, EcoVadis, has raised its assessment of Posti’s sustainability. On the latest assessment Posti got 82 points out of 100 whereas a year ago the result was 77. With both assessments Posti ranked on on the Platinum level, the highest level possible and is among the top one percent in the world.

The biggest improvement was achieved on environmental sustainability (90/100, last year 80/100) and on ethical practices (80/100, last year 70/100).

“Already last year the performance was excellent. It’s great to see that we’ve been able to still improve it within one year. Sustainability is built on everyday actions and thanks to this result goes to all 21 000 Posti employees”, says Noomi Jägerhorn, Sustainability Director.

EcoVadis assessed four themes of Posti’s sustainability: environment, labor & human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. The assessment criteria are based on international corporate social responsibility criteria, such as the principles of GRI, the UN Global Compact and ILO, and the ISO 26000 standard. The assessment is overseen by an international scientific committee.

Sustainability is a key part of Posti’s strategy, values, and the purpose: responsibly delivering what matters to you – on your terms. To continue to transport things sustainably also in the future, Posti need to operate without emissions and ensure that people are feeling well. That is why the two cornerstones of Posti’s sustainability program are the environment and the people. You can read more on the goals and results on our sustainability report.

“The way Ecovadis evaluates sustainability of a company includes well all parts of our sustainability program: environment, people and the foundation including sustainable sourcing. That’s why it’s a good and objective way to review the progress of our sustainability program that was launched one and a half years ago. Improvements on Ecovadis evaluation clearly shows the progress, even though there’s still lot to do,” says Jägerhorn.

In addition to numeral evaluation, Ecovadis supports companies' sustainability work by providing view on what areas are performing well and where to make improvements. You can read more about Ecovadis and its methods here.
