CTT – Correios de Portugal was recognized at the Parcel and Postal Technology International Awards (PPTI) with the “Environmental Achievement of the Year” award, a distinction that highlights the company's ongoing commitment to sustainability and the decarbonization of its services.

This distinction recognizes the value of CTT's ambitious sustainability strategy, particularly in carbon management, which aims to reduce total direct and indirect emissions by 55% by 2030.

To achieve this goal, the company has invested significantly in recent years in the electrification of its own last-mile delivery fleet and its charging infrastructure, which will allow 55% of it to be electric by the end of 2025. CTT aims to operate exclusively with less polluting vehicles by 2030.

There has also been an increase in the consumption of solar energy through panels installed on CTT buildings, and all the electricity purchased by the company comes from 100% renewable sources. In this context, the partnership established with an energy supplier within the scope of the Solar Neighborhoods project stands out, enabling the sale of surplus energy to communities neighboring CTT at more affordable prices.

Road safety is also a central concern for CTT. A telematics project is underway to optimize fleet management and improve operational efficiency, contributing to safer driving and a reduction in pollutant emissions.

This international recognition, coming from one of the most prestigious entities in the postal sector, is a source of great pride and demonstrates CTT's leading role in the environmental transition of the postal industry.
