Correios Brasil saw its parcels and international volumes increase by more than 45% in 2021, driving total revenue up by almost a fifth.

Through increased operating efficiency, including workforce reductions, greater automation and improved contract planning, the post has also seen a sharp rise in profitability in recent years. For 2021, it recorded an EBIT margin of 12%, up from close to 0% in 2018.

The post also saw its parcels market share improve in 2021, in part through new services launched to meet cross-border demand. Other drivers for strong parcels performance included increasing sorting capacity across the country to reduce delivery times for e-commerce orders.
