Driven by lower postal service demand and falling logistics revenue, in 2018 Pos Malaysia saw revenue fall for the first time since 2012.

Meanwhile, double-digit growth in demand from contract e-commerce customers supported 5% courier division growth for the year, although strong competition resulted in a drop in walk-in customers for the courier subsidiary Pos Laju. In order to meet expected growth in cross-border e-commerce volumes, Pos Malaysia has increased daily sorting capacity at its parcel processing centre from 0.1m to 0.5m items in recent years.
