Pandemic-fuelled growth in e-commerce sales resulted in a 19% increase in parcels and express volumes for USPS in 2020.

Rate rises supported faster revenue growth for the post’s Shipping and Packages segment, with a 25% increase in revenue more than offsetting the 8% revenue decline for mail services. However, despite efforts to improve efficiency in transport and delivery networks, the post continued to report increased operating losses in 2020.
