According to Giedrė Vaitekūnaitė, Director of the Lithuanian Post Network and Operations Division, the big November sales and the pre-Christmas period do not affect parcel delivery rates. 97 percent of parcels traveling through the LP EXPRESS parcel lockers and courier network reach their recipients the next business day.
"In order for shipments to reach customers quickly, smoothly and conveniently by the holidays, we have been preparing all year - during this time, the LP EXPRESS network in Lithuania has been expanded by more than 70 new parcel machines and about 10,000 boxes. LP EXPRESS will also rely on additional logistics specialists hired for this season - drivers, couriers, and distributors. The fleet has also been significantly expanded, the throughput of internal logistics has been increased, and as additional assistance, we have also used post offices, which will help as mobile points," notes G. Vaitekūnaitė.
She points out that during the Christmas period, LP EXPRESS parcel lockers are often completely filled during the first part of the day, by noon. As a result, residents are invited to collect their parcels too soon - in this case, couriers will be able to additionally fill the vacated parcel lockers on the same day.
According to a representative of Lithuanian Post, this year the last recommended “safe” day for sending parcels via LP EXPRESS parcel machines is December 20th – parcels left in parcel machines on that day will be delivered before Christmas. G. Vaitekūnaitė points out that the indicated day is a Saturday, so parcels are collected earlier than on weekdays, and all parcel collection times from parcel machines can be checked HERE . When sending gifts via the postal network to recipients in Lithuania, it is recommended to do this no later than December 17th.
Meanwhile, holiday packages to Western European countries with large Lithuanian communities, such as Great Britain, Norway, Ireland, the Netherlands or Germany, take 5 to 10 calendar days to arrive during the pre-Christmas period.
In turn, shipments to recipients in Canada and Asia take about 2 weeks, and to Australia and New Zealand - more than 3 weeks.
