Maastricht, March 2, 2026 – PostNL, in collaboration with Q-Park Nederland, has installed six new parcel lockers at parking garages in Maastricht. This brings the number of PostNL parcel lockers in the city to 17. The locations contribute to smarter and more sustainable urban logistics and are often part of daily routes for residents and visitors. The expansion helps reduce delivery movements in residential areas in and around Maastricht's city center.
The machines have been installed at Q-Park Frontenpark, Stadspark III, De Griend, Vrijthof, and Onze Lieve Vrouweplein in the city center. A parcel machine has also been installed at Q-Park De Heeg, on the edge of the city. "In a historic city center where space is at a premium, centralized collection points help reduce logistical pressure," says Harm Schokker, Deputy Director Out-of-Home at PostNL. "By placing machines at locations where people are already going, we make picking up and sending parcels easier and support more efficient urban logistics." By delivering bundled parcels to a single central location, fewer deliveries are required.
Parcel machine as part of a mobility hub
"Q-Park locations are increasingly developing into mobility hubs," says Michiel Tenge, General Manager of Q-Park Netherlands. "At existing locations, we combine parking, electric charging, shared mobility, and logistics services. These complement each other and are a logical fit. Parcel lockers, for example, fit seamlessly into this concept, contributing to smarter urban logistics. By making optimal use of the limited space in city centers, we keep cities livable and accessible."
PostNL and Q-Park have been working together since 2022. There are currently 17 PostNL parcel lockers at Q-Park nationwide, and their usage has doubled in the past year. In addition, the parcel lockers attract an additional 150 to 300 visitors per week at each location. The recently installed lockers in Maastricht contain up to 90 lockers and are accessible 24/7. Users appreciate the combination of parking and picking up or sending parcels thanks to their central location and easy accessibility.
