Vienna/Belgrade, 21 July 2026 – Austrian Post is acquiring 100 per cent of the Serbian parcel delivery service D Express. Staff, customer contracts and the infrastructure – comprising a logistics centre and 27 delivery depots – are to be taken over. Through its wholly-owned subsidiary City Express, Austrian Post has been operating successfully in the Serbian market for many years and is one of the established parcel delivery providers there. The transaction aims to combine the strengths of D Express and City Express within a single company. This will create one of Serbia’s leading private parcel logistics providers, with an even stronger market position and further growth opportunities.
Both parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. The transaction is subject to all regulatory approvals.
Walter Oblin, CEO of Austrian Post: “Austrian Post is pursuing a clear international expansion strategy: we aim to grow in markets where we can create genuine added value through our own expertise and a strong local presence. The acquisition of D Express is an important step for us in further driving forward the internationalisation of our parcel business and sustainably strengthening our position in South-Eastern Europe.”
Peter Umundum, Deputy CEO, Parcels & Logistics (COO), Austrian Post: “D Express brings a strong operational foundation to the table, including its own logistics centre in Belgrade, a nationwide network comprising 27 delivery hubs, over 300 parcel collection points and extensive experience in day-to-day logistics. Together with City Express, we can gradually connect our networks and combine our strengths, which will ultimately benefit all customers.”
