PostNL has appointed Bart Delmulle as Chief Digital Officer and member of the Executive Committee. Bart Delmulle is currently partner at the Brussels office of management consulting firm Bain & Company. He will start at PostNL on 1 February. The appointment follows the announcement in November 2020, when PostNL published its intention to make additional investments in order to accelerate the digitalisation of its activities.

Bart has built up a strong track record as a consultant for companies in a wide variety of sectors, with special focus on digitalisation and e-commerce. He brings a wealth of experience with large companies, which transform in order to leverage the impactful changes in technology and digitalisation.”

Verhagen went on to say: “With our physical networks, supported by smart digital solutions, we can strengthen our competitive position, while improving our profitability. We will achieve this by introducing new propositions that add value for our customers. In addition, we can create operational synergies by accelerating the introduction of innovative logistical solutions. This appointment contributes to the acceleration of the digitalisation of our activities.”

Bart Delmulle is currently a partner at Bain & Company in Brussels. Previously, he was a partner at McKinsey & Company in Belgium, and at Nokia Mobile Phones en Ventures in Finland.

Following this appointment, the Executive Committee of PostNL will consist of: Herna Verhagen (Chief Executive Officer), Pim Berendsen (Chief Financial Officer), Liesbeth Kaashoek (Director Parcels & Logistics), Resi Becker (Director Mail in the Netherlands), Arno van Bijnen (Director Customer Excellence and Cross Border Solutions), Marcel Krom (Chief Information Officer), Bob van Ierland (Director HR) and Bart Delmulle (Chief Digital Officer).
