“NZ Post is very disappointed to have been a victim of a recent theft. The Police are currently following positive lines of inquiry and we are also carrying out our own investigation", an NZ Post spokesperson said.

“The stolen mail (approximately 240 items) was in transit and taken on Friday 8 July from a site located on the North Shore in Auckland.

“The mail was addressed to the North Shore Hospital and we are working with Te Whatu Ora Health New Zealand Waitematā to communicate with potentially impacted patients.

“Patients who sent correspondence by mail to North Shore Hospital in the lead-up to 8 July and who have not received an acknowledgment are asked to contact the North Shore Hospital switchboard on 09 486 8900 if they have any concerns.

“NZ Post wishes to sincerely apologise to any impacted customers for any inconvenience or concern this theft has caused.”
