The first terminal is already operational in the premises of Post Office 1 in Tulcea , offering users the possibility to deposit cash to top up their accounts on the Bitcoin Romania platform. This initiative facilitates access to cryptocurrency trading, contributing to increasing digital financial inclusion.
In the coming period, four other post offices in Alexandria, Piatra Neamț, Botoșani and Nădlac will benefit from such terminals. The project reflects the commitment of the Romanian Post to integrate state-of-the-art technologies into its services and to bring innovation closer to all citizens, including in less digitalized areas.
This initiative is part of the company's long-term strategy of digital transformation and modernization of traditional services. In recent years, the Romanian Post has proven its constant openness to new technologies. In 2022, it issued the first official NFT of a Romanian public institution – a digital anniversary stamp dedicated to 160 years of activity. Part of the collection was auctioned, and the funds obtained were donated to the HOSPICE Casa Speranței organization .
In 2023, the digitization department continued with the launch of a collection of 100 NFTs and postcards dedicated to anti-communist heroes, created in collaboration with CNSAS , Humanitas Publishing House and other cultural institutions, under the umbrella of the "Dignity and Courage" campaign.
Through these projects, the Romanian Post reconfirms its role as a modern public institution, connected to current technological realities, and strengthens citizens' access to safe, fast and accessible financial solutions.
