The Paq Mochila service, for the stage-by-stage transport of pilgrims' luggage, begins on Monday, March 16. Booking is now available on the website www.elcaminoconcorreos.com, with the new addition this year of Porto as a starting point for the Portuguese Way.
Santiago de Compostela, March 13, 2026 – Pilgrims walking the Camino de Santiago this year can now take advantage of the Correos (Spanish postal service) service to transport their backpacks and suitcases from stage to stage, accommodation to accommodation. Starting this Monday, March 16, the Paq Mochila service is available on the main Camino routes in Spain and Portugal .

Pilgrims can arrange for their luggage transfer on the French Way from Roncesvalles and Somport, on the Northern Way from Irún, on the Primitive Way from Oviedo, on the English Way from Ferrol, on the Winter Way from Ponferrada, on the Silver Route-Sanabres Way from Ourense and on the Way to Fisterra and Muxía .

Also on the Portuguese Way of St. James, which Correos decided to expand in 2026 due to its growing demand: pilgrims now have the Paq Mochila on the Portuguese Way from Porto , both on the Central Way and the Coastal Way, including the Spiritual Variant.

The Paq Mochila service works very simply: Correos (the Spanish postal service) collects your luggage from 8:00 a.m. onwards at your designated accommodation and delivers it to the next hostel, guesthouse, or hotel before 2:30 p.m. This allows you to travel the different stages without having to carry all your belongings, taking only what you need for the day.

The Paq Mochila can be booked through a simple form available in nine languages.

Upon arriving in Santiago de Compostela, pilgrims can take advantage of the luggage storage service offered by Correos (the Spanish postal service) at the Rúa do Franco office, just two minutes from the Plaza del Obradoiro. The service is available Monday through Sunday and can be booked online or in person at the office.

In addition to the Paq Mochila and the left luggage service, pilgrims have other services available such as bicycle shipping , suitcase and package shipping , or sending walking sticks or staffs back to their cities of origin.

On the El Camino con Correos website, pilgrims can also find accommodations in a search engine with more than 4,000 listings , as well as descriptions of the most popular Camino routes and over 300 tips on what to see and do along the way.
