A day with smiles, discoveries and lots of curiosity
Between 2:00 PM and 6:00 PM, students had the opportunity to discover the postal universe behind the scenes, through tours and interactive activities. They followed the route of letters and parcels, from pick-up to sorting and shipping, and learned more about the people and processes that make each delivery possible.
The joy of the children was one of the most beautiful parts of the event. Curious and excited, the little ones explored the company's premises, discovered new things and enjoyed the surprises prepared especially for this day. They received balloons, took photos and had the opportunity to send a unique postcard, dedicated to World Post Day – a special memory and an invitation to rediscover the charm of written messages.
Starting at 6:00 PM and ending at 9:00 PM, the gates opened to the general public, who were able to participate in tours and had access to spaces that are not normally open to visitors.
From HUB to fleet: Romanian Post, seen from the inside
One of the attractions was the Logistics and Courier HUB of the Romanian Post in Bucharest, where participants discovered how parcels and correspondence are sorted and how shipments are prepared to reach their recipients.
The tour continued at the Post Office Printing House, where visitors learned how books are printed, and included access to the company's fleet, giving participants the opportunity to see another important component of postal activity up close.
From sorting shipments to the means of transport that carry them onward, visitors discovered part of the entire mechanism that makes it possible to connect people, every day.
New colleagues, a new perspective: "Postman for a day"
Also on October 9, colleagues from the Central Administration left their office routine and took on the role of postman, as part of the "Postman for a Day" project.
On a day of special significance for the entire postal community, they delivered parcels to Romanian Post customers and experienced field work firsthand. They saw firsthand what postmanship entails, discovered the challenges of deliveries, and interacted directly with the beneficiaries of the company's services.
The experience gave them a concrete perspective on the responsibilities of colleagues in the postal network and highlighted the importance of direct contact with people. Because, behind every delivered parcel, lies a fulfilled promise and a connection between people.
Over 164 years of tradition, with an eye on the future
Through "Open Doors Day" and "Postman for a Day", Romanian Post marked World Post Day through initiatives that brought together the public, children and company employees, highlighting both the infrastructure and operational processes, as well as the people who give life to postal services.
With a history of over 164 years, Romanian Post demonstrated that tradition can go hand in hand with technology, new experiences and community outreach. The event was about discovery, involvement and the joy of seeing what happens behind the counter.
On World Post Day, we opened the doors, brought smiles, and showed that behind every letter and every parcel, there are people connecting people.
