CTT is the only Portuguese company in the logistics sector to be part of the CDP's A-List, which distinguishes companies worldwide with best practices in managing and mitigating climate change.
“It is with great pride and a sense of responsibility that we see CTT included in the CDP A-List. This international recognition is very important to us and reflects CTT's collective commitment to placing sustainability at the strategic center of its decisions,” highlights Maria Rebelo, CTT's Sustainability Director.
Sustainability is a fundamental pillar of CTT's strategy, and they are at the forefront of implementing initiatives to mitigate climate change. The company has the largest electric fleet in the logistics sector in Portugal, aiming to reach 100% electric vehicles for last-mile delivery by 2030. Currently, CTT incorporates recycled material into 90% of its CEP products and uses 100% renewable energy in its electricity consumption, among other initiatives.
The CDP's A-List, of which CTT is now a part, brings together a very select group of companies globally with benchmark performance in climate change: only about 4% of the companies that reported to the CDP this year, considering the various assessment aspects (Climate Change, Water Security and Forests), achieved this top distinction.
The A rating corresponds to the “Leadership” level, reflecting a strategic and consistent approach to integrating climate issues into business management. This recognition results from a high degree of transparency, the effective identification and management of climate-related risks and opportunities, as well as the implementation of concrete actions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and transition to a low-carbon economy.
The inclusion of CTT in the A-List reinforces its commitment to environmental sustainability and the adoption of responsible practices, aligned with global objectives to combat climate change. This international recognition also highlights CTT's role as an active agent in promoting a more sustainable, resilient economy, prepared for future challenges.
