The sixth edition of Europe’s Climate Leaders, compiled by the Financial Times in partnership with the data provider Statista, highlights European companies that are making progress in cutting greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
The ranking focuses primarily on companies that have achieved the greatest reductions in their core emissions (scope1 and 2) between 2019 and 2024. These emissions come from a company’s own operations and from the energy it uses.
The methodology and ranking continue to evolve in line with how companies report emissions data. This year, greater weight is given to absolute reductions in core emissions, while reductions in emissions intensity carry a slightly less weight.
