Pos Malaysia has been recognised with four honours at the National Energy Awards (NEA) 2026, reaffirming its commitment to energy efficiency, sustainability and operational decarbonisation across its nationwide network. The awards recognise the organisation's ongoing efforts to reduce energy consumption, expand renewable energy adoption and embed sustainable practices throughout its operations.
Organised by Malaysia's Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA), the National Energy Awards celebrate organisations that demonstrate excellence in energy management, energy efficiency and renewable energy implementation. This year's recognition highlights how Pos Malaysia is transforming its operations to support Malaysia's transition towards a lower-carbon future.

Four National Energy Awards for Pos Malaysia

Under the Energy Management category, four Pos Malaysia facilities received recognition:

  1. Winner (Large Building): Pos Malaysia Headquarters / General Post Office Kuala Lumpur

 2. Winner (Small & Medium Building): Pusat Pos Laju Pekan Nenas

 3. Runner-up (Small & Medium Building): Pusat Pos Laju Pasir Gudang

 4. Merit (Small & Medium Building): Pusat Pos Laju Petaling Jaya

These achievements reflect sustained efforts to improve energy performance through solar photovoltaic installations, energy-efficient lighting and air-conditioning upgrades, enhanced energy monitoring systems and employee-led conservation initiatives.

Sustainability Through Everyday Improvements

For Pos Malaysia, sustainability is driven by practical actions implemented consistently across its network.

According to Charles Brewer, Group Chief Executive Officer of Pos Malaysia, meaningful sustainability progress is achieved when employees are empowered to take ownership of improvements within their own workplaces. The recognition demonstrates how simple, scalable initiatives can create significant impact when applied consistently across thousands of operational touchpoints nationwide.

As one of Malaysia's largest logistics networks, Pos Malaysia continues to strengthen energy efficiency across its buildings, facilities and transportation operations. The company views sustainability not as a standalone initiative, but as an integrated approach to operating more efficiently while reducing its environmental footprint.

Three Facilities to Represent Malaysia at ASEAN Energy Awards

The achievement extends beyond national recognition. As category winners, Pos Malaysia Headquarters / General Post Office Kuala Lumpur, Pusat Pos Laju Pekan Nenas, and Pusat Pos Laju Pasir Gudang will have the opportunity to represent Malaysia at the ASEAN Energy Awards in the Philippines.

This regional platform will showcase Malaysian energy management best practices and highlight how local organisations are advancing sustainable operations through innovation, technology and continuous improvement.

How Pos Malaysia Is Reducing Carbon Emissions

The awards form part of Pos Malaysia's broader sustainability transformation programme, which includes renewable energy adoption, energy efficiency initiatives and green mobility investments. Key milestones include:

Malaysia's Largest Logistics Electric Vehicle Fleet

Pos Malaysia currently operates the country's largest logistics electric vehicle fleet, comprising:

   a. 1,252 electric bikes

   b. 279 electric vans

Together, these vehicles have travelled more than 7.2 million kilometres emission-free, helping reduce operational carbon emissions while supporting greener last-mile delivery.

Growing Renewable Energy Infrastructure

The company has expanded its solar-powered network to 17 facilities nationwide, increasing renewable energy's contribution to nearly 10% of its overall energy mix.

These installations help prevent more than 2,900 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually, while supporting the organisation's long-term decarbonisation goals.

 Smarter Energy Management

Across its operations, Pos Malaysia continues to implement:

   a. LED lighting upgrades

   b. Advanced energy management systems

   c. Digitalisation initiatives

   d. Building efficiency improvements

These measures help optimise energy consumption while improving operational efficiency across the network.

Helping Customers Make More Sustainable Logistics Choices

Sustainability efforts extend beyond Pos Malaysia's own operations. Through the Pos Hijau Carbon Emissions Tool, customers can track and better understand the carbon impact of their shipments.

The tool enables businesses and individuals to make more informed logistics decisions while promoting greater transparency around environmental performance. By combining operational improvements with customer-facing sustainability solutions, Pos Malaysia continues to support businesses seeking more responsible logistics options.

Building a More Sustainable Future

The National Energy Awards 2026 recognition reflects more than operational excellence. It demonstrates how long-term investments in renewable energy, energy efficiency and employee engagement can deliver measurable environmental impact at scale.

As Pos Malaysia continues to expand its sustainability initiatives, the focus remains on reducing environmental impact, improving operational resilience and creating value for customers, communities and the country. By embedding sustainability into its everyday operations, Pos Malaysia is helping shape a more efficient, responsible and future-ready logistics industry for Malaysia.
