Strong e-commerce related parcels growth helped PostNL offset a continued decline in mail revenue in 2019 to record 2.3% total revenue growth.

Following its acquisition of Sandd, the second-largest mail company in the Netherlands, PostNL saw the rate of mail volume decline slow to 2.2% in 2019. However, its parcel volume growth also slowed in the year, driven by a maturing e-commerce market and weaker consumer confidence. With volume growth forecast to slow further in 2020, the post is looking to improve its yield per parcel, introducing its first rate increase for single parcels in more than five years in Q1 2020.
