We are looking for an Operations Solutions Expert to support our Cooperative Road Network Optimization Solution (CRONOS), Operations Solutions Tracking and the Equipment Pools and to join the Operation Solutions department.

The Expert role reports to the Senior Network Integration Manager in the Operations Solutions department and is responsible for the well-functioning of the Transport Domain including CRONOS daily operation, network planning & engineering, transport management solution and related applications.

Objective

The Expert role is responsible for the execution of the activities within the Transport Domain which can include but is not limited to CRONOS operation, TMS management, Event tracking and supporting the Equipment Pools contributing to services that help meet IPC's strategic goals providing a sustainable and reliable transport network solution and a data driven solution for enhanced supply chain visibility and near real time tracking. This position requires both expertise and experience as well as personal qualifications to achieve results that meet member posts' expectations.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide daily management activities to the Transport domain to ensure a seamless network operation, visibility on performance statistics, network and holiday planning (keeping the routing and transport information in TMS up to date and ensuring operators have access to the
    orders) and management of transport provider services.
  • Collaborate with the Manager Equipment Pools to synergise CRONOS and Equipment Pools repatriation transport management
  • Facilitate network operation through technology solutions such as TMS, geo-location tracking and scanning solutions
  • Establish strategies to expand network solutions by growing postal e-commerce volumes, by expanding participating postal operators, creating inter-operability opportunities with alternative networks 
  • Integrate the transport domain into the IPC Central Database (CCDS) to standardise data access and products as part of the data eco-system
  • Prepare for peak/holiday operation and establish procedures and communications to cope with exceptional volumes during the peak/holiday period
  • Investigate and deploy innovations to support the transport domain, such as using alternative tracking solutions such as RFID, BLE tags in cooperation with Tracking Solutions and cooperate in the set up and running of Proof-of-Concept trials.
  • Take part in the CRONOS/Transport User Group meetings and the Equipment Pools User Group meetings and support preparatory activities
  • Work out a business development plan to productionize TMS as a service that can be used by posts to manage their transports
  • Use TMS data extracts and feed dashboards or create reports to support visibility.

Your profile

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience

Expertise

  • 3-5 years relevant subject matter expertise
  • Knowledge of and experience with Transportation planning and execution
  • Knowledge of and experience with Transport Management Solutions

Skills

  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Familiarity with MS Office, JIRA, and MIRO
