Having become a mission-driven company four years ago, La Banque Postale has taken stock of its achievements over the period and set new ESG ambitions with 15 renewed commitments for the 2026-2030 period, aligned with its purpose of promoting a just transition. To amplify the momentum already underway, Antoine Pellion, former Secretary General for Ecological Planning, succeeds Natacha Valla as Chair of the bank's Mission Committee, effective February 19.

As a mission-driven company since 2022, in line with its parent company, the La Poste group, La Banque Postale draws a positive assessment of these first four years which have allowed it to accelerate the transformation of its model by more strongly integrating extra-financial issues (environmental, social and territorial) at the heart of its governance, its offers and its practices.

Among the major advances of the last 4 years:

  • Funding: more than a quarter of the funding granted to local authorities now consists of green and social loans.
  • Developing the ESG skills of employees: enriching its training offer and doubling the number of employees trained in ESG issues (50,000 employees);
  • Parity: 42% of female employees appointed to strategic and executive positions by the end of 2025 (+4.5pts since 2022) , a strong ambition, defined within the framework of the mission-driven company.

15 concrete commitments to amplify the impact by 2030
La Banque Postale has adopted 15 new indicators for the period 2026-2030, marking a new stage in the implementation of its statutory objectives. In line with its commitment to a just transition, it has set itself an ambitious framework with:

  • an expanded scope to include the financial conglomerate for certain objectives, now encompassing banking, insurance and asset management activities,
  • a better consideration of social issues, such as financial inclusion and insurance for vulnerable populations,
  • the integration of commitments relating to adaptation to climate change, the protection of biodiversity and the deployment of ethical and responsible AI.

A new presidency serving a new dynamic
Effective February 19, Antoine Pellion succeeds Natacha Valla as Chair of the mission committee. A mining engineer and former Secretary General for Ecological Planning, Antoine Pellion led the French government's climate strategies and coordinated regional COPs before joining the French group Idex, specializing in energy infrastructure and low-carbon solutions.

He will chair the mission committee, composed of 18 members, independent experts and representatives of La Banque Postale and the La Poste group.
