Austrian Post has opened a new self-service branch at Ketzergasse 56 in Vienna's 23rd district. This gives nearly 7,000 households in Siebenhirten the opportunity to pick up or send their parcels around the clock. The location has also been equipped with a flexible counter that can be staffed by an employee during the peak Christmas season. This also allows for the collection of bulky parcels that would otherwise not fit in a post office.

The new 24/7 self-service branch was officially opened by Gerald Bischof, District Mayor of Vienna-Liesing, and Peter Umundum, Deputy General Director, Member of the Board for Parcel & Logistics at Austrian Post.

Gerald Bischof, District Mayor of Vienna-Liesing: "The new self-service branch on Ketzergasse improves the infrastructure in Siebenhirten. Now, parcels can once again be received and sent close to home. This means greater convenience for thousands of households in the district!"

Peter Umundum, Deputy General Director, Member of the Board for Parcel & Logistics, Austrian Post AG: "Austrian Post is a pioneer when it comes to modern self-service solutions that are available around the clock. With the new self-service branch in Liesing, we are therefore consistently driving forward the digitalization of our logistics offerings. Sending or receiving parcels around the clock is a modern service that our customers rightly expect today. The combination of smart technology and maximum flexibility makes receiving parcels easier than ever before."

THE NEW SELF-SERVICE BRANCH IN LIESING

The new self-service branch covers an area of more than 200 m² and offers space for a large post office with 850 collection slots. Two shipping stations also allow for franking and mailing parcels or returns. The new self-service branch boasts a bright and modern design, and its sustainable furnishings include wooden paneling elements, which contribute to a pleasant atmosphere.

During the Christmas season, a flexible counter for the collection of bulky items can be staffed. This relieves pressure on the surrounding post offices and increases convenience for all residents of the neighborhood.
