“Omniva’s goal is to develop a dense, close-to-home parcel infrastructure across Estonia, making e-commerce — which people increasingly prefer — conveniently accessible also in smaller communities. We are moving towards a future where every Estonian settlement has its own parcel locker,” said Martti Kuldma, CEO of Omniva.
“Community parcel lockers are specifically designed for rural areas — they are battery-powered, quick to install and relocate, and can be expanded modularly from 7 to 21 compartments,” Kuldma added.
The locations of the new lockers are identified in cooperation with local municipalities and communities, who know their area’s movement patterns and everyday service needs best. Based on their proposals, the first confirmed locations have been selected.
The first confirmed locations in Estonia are:
• Martna village, Lääne-Nigula municipality, Läänemaa (Martna Municipal Office)
• Kullamaa village, Lääne-Nigula municipality, Läänemaa (Kullamaa Municipal Office)

In addition, 16 new locations have been confirmed in Latvia and 20 in Lithuania. Analysis to identify the most suitable locations for the remaining lockers in the first phase is still ongoing. Omniva will soon also launch a public call for proposals for new parcel locker locations.
Parcels can be collected from the new lockers in the familiar way — customers receive a notification with a pickup code via SMS, email or the Omniva app, according to their preference. To open the locker, the code must be entered on the keypad. To send a parcel, it must first be registered in the Omniva app or self-service environment and then taken to the locker.
The locker keypad and compartments are accessible to wheelchair users, and the keypad includes Braille numbering.
Once the installation date of a specific locker is confirmed, Omniva will inform local residents about the installation and usage instructions via the municipality and, where possible, local media and social media channels.
