The IPC Cross-border E-commerce Shopper Survey 2023 provides a comprehensive analysis of the global trends and drivers shaping cross-border e-commerce from the perspective of online consumers. The aim is to inform postal operators of changing customer needs so that they can take informed decisions with regard to their international product portfolio and delivery service specifications.

How does it work?

The Cross-border E-commerce Shopper Survey 2023 was conducted with a total online sample of 32,510 consumers. The target group is frequent cross-border online shoppers, who have made a cross-border online purchase in the last year. In this year’s survey, IPC also included a set of questions to understand both current and future expected changes in online shopping and the various impacts of the 'cost of living' crisis.

The field work took place in September 2023 in 41 countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK and the USA.
