Two postal and delivery operators have expanded their fleets to include temperature sensitive packaging and transport.

Both Finnish postal operator, Posti and German express operator, GO! have introduced methods for pharmaceutical and food items between -18 and 8 degrees Celsius.

While Posti is solely focused on the transportation of frozen and cool food products, with temperature-controlled High Capacity Transport (HCT) vehicles, which can transport a total of 44 tonnes of food. The HCT is a combination of two semi-trailers and a towing vehicle that have been implemented with existing serialised transport units. The combination has a length of almost 32 meters and a height of 4.4 meters. The maximum permissible mass is 76 tonnes.

Meanwhile, GO! is introducing a new disposable packaging solution “GO! COOL” for products in the temperature range of 2-8°C, developed by the certified pharmaceutical wholesaler Teccom in cooperation with the packaging specialist ECOCOOL.

With the new packaging, GO! is further expanding its range of express and logistics solutions for the pharmaceutical industry. The GDP-capable packaging for temperature sensitive products was previously tested in the GO! system for several years and validated exclusively for transportation by GO! in the temperature range of 2-8°C.
