Russian online shoppers got 4.5 times more parcels delivered to DPD Pickup parcel shops in Russia in 2017 than during the previous year, with the company planning to open 500 new parcels shops this year. DPD currently operates over 1,200 Pickup parcel shops across Russia. A quarter of the total volumes were delivered in November and December last year. The busiest month of the year in terms of volumes was December, as is traditionally the case, according to the company. Cosmetics products were most frequently shipped to the Pickup points. Three cosmetic brands, one of which became the absolute leader, together account for almost 30% of the total parcel volumes that Russian customers picked up at the parcel shops last year. Parcels weighing up to 5kg accounted for more than 80% of the total parcel volumes delivered to the Pickup shops across the country, DPD Russia said.
