Roman Knap won an open tender issued by the Ministry of Interior and took up his new office on 18 June 2018.  Mr. Knap, 43, has previously served as a CEO of SAP Czech Republic and SAP Slovakia; he also worked in managerial positions for Oracle and KPMG.

"The Czech Post must become a modern and well-functioning company with high-quality services and a range of products that its clients will appreciate. I will focus on improving the working conditions of all employees and on the company's economic results. Postal workers are to receive adequate reward for their demanding work. The Czech Post deserves to be a recognized company," the new CEO said last week.

In line with the assignment from the Ministry of the Interior, the Czech Post should speed up the transformation of its postal offices network, modernize sorting and parcel centres, improve its IT infrastructure and focus more on services that bring financial effects.

"We perceive the Czech Post's new vision and focus in the same way with Mr. Knap,” claimed Lubomir Metnar, the Minister of Interior. The company has a huge management apparatus generating high costs, and making this component more effective will be a key task for him. Optimizing management costs is a necessary step as well as improving staff conditions and service to citizens," Mr. Metnar said on the occasion of Mr. Knap's appointment.
