The French Government is preparing to submit a draft amendment to create a single public financial institution around French bank, Caisse des Dépôts (CDC) and postal operator, Le Groupe La Poste.
The ambitious project aims to strengthen the cohesion of regions and rural areas and provide citizens access to all of Le Groupe La Poste’s services including digital and personal assistance.
The application of this project would involve a majority takeover of Le Groupe La Poste by CDC, who is currently a shareholder of La Poste alongside the State . The existing commercial partnership between La Banque Postale and CNP Assurances would thus be strengthened, while maintaining that CNP Insurance remain open and a multi-partner model.
