Russian Post increased international shipment volumes by 25% in the first nine months of 2018 and is planning a massive upgrade of its infrastructure with 38 new logistics centres while expanding its e-commerce activities through new partnerships with eBay and IKEA.
According to the preliminary results for the first nine months of this year, Russian Post processed nearly 259 million international shipments (import, export, transit) with product enclosures (parcels, small packages, EMS shipments), which equals a 25% increase on the same period in 2017 when it handled 208 million items.
CEO Nikolai Podgusov said: “The shipment volumes from abroad show a significant increase. We predict that by the end of 2018, we will process more than 354 million international shipments, which would be 25% more than last year. Russian Post is constantly working on the development of transport and logistics facilities in order to process the increasing volumes of parcels as quickly as possible.”
